This picture and its name is based on one of the most famous czech poems - May. "Late evening, on the first of May" are the first words of this poem, written by one of Czech best poets of romantism, Karel Hynek Mácha. This whole poem contains a story of love, which ends (surprislingly) tragically. If you're interested in the story, you can read it in here.
Yesterday in the evening, I was watching the movie "May" which is based on the poem (well...this movie is very strange and artistic, but shows beautiful nature and the soundrack is very good), and as I was listening to the music of the movie, an idea came to my mind....
This is an instrumental version of the main song of the movie, it is so inspirating for me

I had to draw it because I love this pairing still more and more and there's not enough pictures with them!

I read the information about that poem. How on Earth did you manage to draw something so beautiful from such a depressing story?! I hope this doesn't mean that Romania or Bulgaria is going to die and have their limbs mangled because that would break my heart!
In this picture, I love the way they're staring at each other <3. There's so much love and intensity there. Their arms encircling each other is just beautiful too. And awwww, Bul's flower crown!! I wonder if Ro made it for him?
